soon things will be added here...
A few weeks ago I finally got my hands on Survive Style 5+. This is a beautiful film. The art design in it is flat out gorgeous and it's wonderfully bizarre withal. It's directed by first-timer Gen Sekiguchi who had only directed music videos before this film and to a large extent you can tell. His use of vibrant color and his flair for style permeate throughout the entire film. It's a darkly comedic film with a frenetic opening pace.
<--- The Trailer
In the film, Tadanobu Asano plays a man who kills and buries his wife, only to find her alive when he returns home, over and over again. A salaryman becomes hypnotized to think he is a bird, by a hypnotist that moments later is brutally assasinated by a hit man played by Vinnie Jones. Three layabout burglars roam subruban Tokyo and confront homoerotic lust for one another. And an edvertising exec attempts to sell commercials far more perverse than any on TV.
I'm sorry I haven't posted in a little while. I tried, but the interweb tubes must have been all clogged up. They seem to be flowing smoothly now so I'll get some posting done shortly. What else are Sundays at the office for anyway?
Things I've been meaning to post about:

My Abandonment of American TV
With a lack of better things to do today, I've decided to bake some things for Thanksgiving. I'm making a pumpkin pie because it's obvious, and just to be cheeky I'm also making a white chocolate pecan tart.
Yay!
I bought these headphones. I didn't pay the retail price but it still seems the price was steep. I cannot begin to express how happy I am with them though. These things are designed to block out 36db of outside sound so you can only hear your music. So it's like you put these things in your ear some black magic happens and suddenly all you hear is music that seems to be pumping directly into your brain. It makes music sound like it was recorded specifically for you. I love these things.
They certainly make public transportation more tolerable. I've been riding the bus with a smile plastered across my face all week.
Apparently back in June 2006 this guy Duncan Wilson designed a wireless cup and string phone...
This is genius and should totally be made into a product you can buy.
I want one sooner than it could possibly ever come out.
Seriously.
So the British DVD release of The IT Crowd is out. For those of you who don't know this is the ultimate in geek brit-comedy. I can't recommend this show enough. It mostly centers around two IT geeks that work in the basement of an abusive corporation and their new boss who lied about her IT experience on her resume.
The DVD release has cleverly added 1337 subtitles to the whole series. This is just piling more absurdity onto what is already one of the more ridiculous comedies being made. The new series comes out in January so I'm sure it will be available on most bittorrent trackers. The american DVD release should be imminent but if your like me you'll probably just import the british DVD.
If you don't believe as to the hilarity just watch the first five minutes of the first episode...
